- Converted with what sowftware? Converted to what color depth? How
- many colors is your WB screen?

- GIFs have a maximum of 256 colors, JPEGs a max of 16 million. WB
- dithers the image when displaying it as a backdrop to whichever colors
- it has available. Some are taken from the icons, some from the image
- and there are those set by the palette prefs.

- Try converting the images to less colors than you have on your WB
- screen. e.g. 32 color WB, 16 color image.
